Art Classes for Children

The CMA offers Young Artists Studio Classes throughout the year, with most courses beginning in mid-January, late-April/early-May, and September. With courses available in a wide range of media, scheduled for weekdays and weekends throughout the day and evening, there's a class to fit every schedule, budget, and interest!

C-100 Let’s Get Started (Pre-K – K)
5 Saturdays, 11:00 – 12:00 noon

Parents join their little artists in this class! Each week, you will assist your child with projects and learn about the elements of art -- color, line, pattern, & shape! A direct hands-on-approach experimenting with a variety of art materials will help your little artist get started in the world of art. Each session will feature different projects. Cost: $42

C-200 Storybook Art (1st – 2nd Grade)
5 Saturdays, 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Everyone loves to hear a story!  Each day students will listen to a story and then create their own masterpieces inspired by the words.  Project will focus on the basic elements of art and a variety of materials will be used. Cost: $50

C-300 Animal Art (3rd - 5th Grade)
5 Saturdays, 10:30 - 12:00 noon

Learn how line, shape, color, and pattern are used to capture fur, feathers, and scales on all kinds of animal life.  A variety of materials will be taught as you create your artistic animals.  Cost: $50

C-400 Paint, Print, & Spatter (6th - 8th Grade)
5 Saturdays, 1:00 - 2:30 pm

...and maybe a little collage, too!  This class is a multi-media approach to art where we will explore painting and printing with brushes, sponges, sticks, and many other materials. Cost: $50

C-500 Creative Clay (5th - 8th Grade)
5 Sundays, 1:30 – 3:00 noon
Begins January 22
Ends February 19

Come explore the endless creativity of clay in this fun and challenging class. Lean the basic techniques and make functional, decorative, and sculptural pieces that captivate the imagination. Limit of 10 students. Cost: $60

CLASS & WORKSHOP POLICIES
ENROLLMENT Each class must have at least six (6) students. If the minimum enrollment requirement is not met, the class will be canceled. Registrants will be notified if the class is canceled 48 hours before the scheduled starting date and receive a full refund.
FEES are due at the time of registration. You may mail in a check or credit card number with the registration form, stop in to the office and pay with cash, check, credit card, or call 330-453-7666 with your credit card.
MATERIALS are included in class fees.
REGISTRATION ends one week before class begins.
WITHDRAWAL/REFUND POLICY To withdraw from a class and receive a full refund, you must contact the CMA by the registration deadline. Full refunds for students withdrawing from a class after the registration deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
