Aultcare Family Field Day:  Free Community Event

Get ready for a truly unique outdoor family event at the Canton Museum of Art! AultCare Family Field Day combines the Hall of Fame City’s love for football and art with an interactive festival featuring live entertainment, kids’ activities, sporting events, marching bands, food trucks, and the Scrimmage art exhibition. This free day will offer something special for everyone in the community!


Sports Art Talk - "Race and Football: Evolution of the Game"

Reveals the history of African American athletes both on the field and in sports imagry.  Presented by Dr. Leslie Heaphy, Associate Professor of History, Kent State University at Stark. Free and open to the public.  Located at Canton Museum of Art / Cable Recital Hall.


 

Sports Art Talk - "Gladiators: The Concussion Crisis & Football's Future Through the Visual Arts"

October 4, 2017, 6pm (Free)


The history of American football art and popular illustration illuminates issues facing football organizations today, as they work to make the game safer. Presented by Dr. Michael Oriard, Distinguished Professor of American Literature at Oregon State University, author of four cultural studies of football, including “Brand NFL”, and played four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
