Stark County High School Art Exhibition
March 19 - April 3
Since 1991, the Canton Museum of Art has proudly held the Stark County High School Art Exhibition. Each high school in the County is invited to participate. Students have the chance to show their artwork in a gallery, sell their work, receive awards, and even win financial scholarships! Meanwhile, the public has the opportunity to marvel at the creations of students in our community. The exhibit features original two- and three-dimensional original works by students, created as part of their school curriculums and chosen by the school’s art instructor. Each school is limited to a total of ten entries with no more than two entries per artist. Student works are judged on the basis of both originality and technical ability. This year’s judges represent the participating educational institutions, Kent State University Stark, Malone University and Walsh University.
The exhibit will be held between Friday, March 19 and Saturday, April 3. The Opening Reception & Award Presentation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23; awards will be presented at 6:00 PM. This year the First, Second and Third Place scholarship awards are $1000, $600 and $400. Honorable mention awards will also be presented, with each winner receiving a scholarship for classes at the Museum of Art.
