CMA presents: CANTON ART DISTRICT ALL-STARS 2018

The Canton Arts District All-Stars exhibit is a one-night Art event that is open for submissions to visual Artists who celebrate the Canton Arts District.

Participating Artists must register online by Sunday, October 28th, 2018 (before Midnight).

Once the artwork has been registered online, Artists will drop off their entry on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 from 10:00AM – 6:00PM at the Canton Museum of Art. 

The submitted art works will be on display in the Museum Galleries for ONE NIGHT ONLY on First Friday, November 2 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. Museum Guests & Visitors will vote on their favorite works during the event until 8:00PM, then the All-Stars’ winner will be announced before the show closes at 8:30PM. Participation in this event is FREE.  This event is sponsored by About Magazine, ArtsInStark and ARTe.

• Solo Exhibit at Avenue Arts Gallery – July 2019

IMPORTANT DATES:

1) Register your selected artwork online by Sunday, Oct. 28th, before Midnight.

2) Drop Off registered artwork on Wednesday, Oct. 31st, between 10:00AM - 6:00PM.

3) Pick-up artwork on Friday, Nov.2nd, from 8:30PM - 9:00PM after the event.

OFFICIAL RULES FOR ARTISTS

CANTON ARTS DISTRICT ALL-STARS

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, 2018 // 5:00PM - 8:00PM

Please read the following rules carefully:

BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY TO CANTON ARTS DISTRICT ALL STARS, YOU AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

ONLINE APPLICATION: Complete this online application by Sunday, October 28th, before Midnight.  It is FREE to participate in this event.  

DROP OFF: Drop off your artwork on Wednesday, October 31st, from 10:00AM - 6:00PM at the Canton Museum of Art. 

ELIGIBILITY:  Artists must be at least 18 years old. Open to artists who celebrate the Canton Arts District (may live in Summit, Stark or other counties)

SUBMISSION:  Limit one submission per artist. LIMITED TO ONLY 100 TOTAL SUBMISSIONS. Online application will automatically close once filled.  NOTE : Collaborative works are welcome, but each individual can only be part of one submission. 

ENTRIES:  Entries must be original and created in 2016 to 2018. All 2D entries must be ready to hang with Wire or D-rings pre-installed on back of piece. Any entry without Wire or D-rings will be refused entry into the exhibit.  

2D Size Limits: must be under 4’w x 4’h x6’d.  

3D Size Limits: must be free standing or fit on 20”x20” pedestal. 

USE OF YOUR IMAGES AND INFORMATION FOR MARKETING PURPOSES: Each artist consents to the use by Canton Museum of Art of information and imagery provided by Artists (and/or documented by Canton Museum of Art) for promotional materials without limitation and without further compensation or consideration to Artist.

SALE OF ENTRIES: Artists may offer their entry for sale during First Friday, but must maintain the public display of the entry until 8:30PM.  Sales are the sole responsibility of the Artist. Canton Museum of Art will not be involved in or be responsible for the sale, or presentation for sale, of the entry or responsible for any loss or damage associated with said items.

ADDITIONAL RULES: The artist is solely responsible to ensure that an entry does not infringe upon, violate or misappropriate any intellectual property or other proprietary rights owned or possessed by any third party. Each artist will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Canton Museum of Art and its affiliates, agents and employees, from and against any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, losses and expenses, including costs and attorney fees relating to or arising, directly or indirectly, out of any kind of nature which any person or party may make against Canton Museum of Art based upon or arising out of the entry, sale of the entry, or any other claim or demand relating to Canton Museum of Art, including any claim of infringement.

Canton Museum of Art may disqualify any entry if it determines, in its sole discretion, that (i) an artist has shown disrespect for these Official Rules, (ii) an artist acts in a manner that is not fair or equitable, (iii) an artist acts in any disruptive manner, or (iv) any persons or animals were harmed in the production of such entry. Canton Museum of Art is not responsible for inaccurate, fraudulent, incomplete, illegible, tampered with, misdirected, late or stolen entries or transmissions, any losses or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the Canton Arts District All Stars, or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human or electronic.

PICKUP ARTWORK:  All work must be picked up after the exhibit closes between 8:30PM - 9:00PM on Friday, November 2.
