Long before fantasy novels and films, artists filled their works with extraordinary creatures that embodied hope, fear, mystery, and transformation. Fantastical Creatures explores this enduring human fascination with imagined beings and the artists who bring them to life.

From mythical beasts and legendary monsters to whimsical animals and dreamlike hybrids, these works reveal how artists use fantasy to explore storytelling, symbolism, humor, and the unknown. Animals have long occupied a central place in art, serving not only as subjects but also as powerful metaphors for the human experience. Throughout art history, animals have served as symbols of identity, emotion, morality, spirituality, and transformation.
