Offering this 10 week class in our ceramics studios! Beginning students will be taught the basics of hand-building and wheel-work while intermediate students will refine their skills. Individual projects will include functional pottery and decorative work. Discover the ceramic process from start to finish, learn glazing techniques, watch demonstrations and, receive one-on-one attention with instructor help and feedback. Taken the class before? Laura works with each individual student to see them grow, sign up for multiple classes!

Advanced Ceramics (Prerequisite: 4 or more CMA Ceramics Classes or Instructor Approval)

Offering this 10 week class in our ceramics studios! This class is available for advanced students that have taken at least four ceramics classes at CMA or have received instructor approval to take the class. Form, surface design, glazing, and firing will be explored in greater depth during this class. Advanced students who have taken five or more CMA ceramics classes or working at a level determined to be advanced by the instructor will be required to do their own firing in cooperation with the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild to deepen their understanding of the process.

Ceramics Independent Study (Prerequisite: 3 CMA Ceramics classes or more)

Advanced ceramics students are now eligible for independent study at CMA! This option is available for a limited number of students that have taken at least three ceramics classes at CMA. Your registration fee provides access to the studio during all open studio hours, a locker for storage, access to studio tools and equipment, and a professional teaching artist mentor available to get you set up and answer any questions you may have through email. Studio hours run for 10 weeks from 1/14/23 - 3/17/23 which coincides with our ceramics class schedule.
