Art For Health & Healing - Finding Mindfulness Through the Art of Motherhood Mandala

In conjunction with the Art for Health & Healing Program, the Canton Museum of Art welcomes you to a special mindfulness art series that focuses on slowing down, relieving stress, and learning to use creativity to increase awareness of self and be present in the moment. Join our registered art therapist, Amy Hope, as she directs you through using an intuitive process to create a mandala on a circular canvas. Mandala’s have been found throughout the centuries. They can be found in architecture and art forms all around the world. Use mixed media techniques, color, and shapes as a form of self-expression. Prior art experience is not necessary, but an open mind is always helpful!

Inspired by the exhibit Crowns: Crossing into Motherhood, join our registered art therapist, Amy Hope, as she directs you through reflecting on your personal journey of motherhood through collage. What does motherhood look like to you? The ups and downs, joys and pains. Find mindfulness through the power of art.

Calling all Moms! Who needs some me time, self-care, and appreciation? In this unique program, bring another parent/adult to hang out with your kids in the art classroom to create a heartfelt piece of artwork celebrating their appreciation and love all about you! While the kiddos are busy with art making, moms can enjoy some much needed relaxation through a casual stroll through the CMA's current exhibit Crowns: Crossing into Motherhood where the artwork focuses on exploring varying maternal experiences and the sometimes unrealistic expectations of being a “perfect mother” explored through beautifully crafted, sculptural works of art. Then enjoy a session of yoga. Come and breathe, move, laugh and just be yourself with other moms!

*Price per family (One Mom for yoga + one joining Adult and up to 5 Kids (grades PK - 4) for art activity)
*Please bring your own yogo mat
*Cost includes all supplies except yoga mat

Allow inspiration to flow while creating your own unique circle tree weaving. Join our registered art therapist, Amy Hope, as she teaches you how mindfulness and art switches on the brain and your buried creative power.

Art For Health & Healing - Finding Mindfulness Through the Art of Alcohol Ink Collage

In conjunction with the Art for Health & Healing Program, the Canton Museum of Art welcomes you to a special mindfulness art series that focuses on slowing down, relieving stress, and learning to use creativity to increase awareness of self and be present in the moment. Join our registered art therapist, Amy Hope, as she directs you through building upon your understanding from the first alcohol ink workshop (preferred but not required). Learn how to paint by only using your breath while painting with alcohol inks using yupo paper, then create a unique piece of art by collaging your pieces. Find mindfulness through the power of art.
