What to Know Before You Visit CMA

Welcome! Here's What You Need to Know When Visiting CMA . . .

The Canton Museum of Art is pleased to welcome visitors inside our galleries. The health and welfare of our visitors and staff is of utmost importance, and CMA continues to follow recommended health procedures and internal guidelines. This includes:

• Masking: CMA RECOMMENDS, but no longer requires, visitors wear a face covering. The CDC updated its guidelines regarding the need to wear face coverings in public settings. Click the link to search community level COVID information.


Our procedures reflect current conditions and recommendations, and are designed to change as necessary. Please keep current on the Museum’s practices, and please be kind to staff as they explain any changes as necessary. See below for more details . . .


Hours, Admission & Ticket Reservations

• CMA is open normal business hours, depending on exhibitions: Please check here for Current Hours.

• You may purchase tickets at the Patron Services Desk, or in advance of your visit at Reserve Tickets.


• There is no need to print your ticket. Save your confirmation email and check in at the Patron Services Desk with your name.

• Members receive free admission to all exhibitions, a 20% discount on classes, and a 10% discount in the Artisan Boutique.


• Members are vital to CMA's programming. Renew or purchase a new membership online here! Thank you!


Guidelines for Your Visit . . . as of 3/17/2022

CMA wants everyone to be fully informed on what to expect to provide a comfortable experience for all.

  • First and foremost, if you are not feeling well, please stay home. You can visit us another day.
  • Masks are Recommended. If you feel it appropriate, you may wear a mask, and CMA staff may as well.
  • Please check-in at the Patron Services Desk upon entry. Our staff will assist you with any questions about your visit.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the Museum.
  • Surfaces throughout the Museum are cleaned during open hours.
  • Acrylic partitions remain in place at the Patron Services Desk to protect both staff and visitors.
  • We still encourage social distancing! Be kind to each other, respect space, and be safe!
  • Large bags are prohibited, as well as outside food and beverage. Small bags and childcare items are allowed.
  • The Museum Magazine is available on the website at Explore the Museum. The print version is available in the Lobby.

About the Art . . .

  • For exhibitions with security stanchions, please respect your distance from the art — and remember, no touching!
  • Certain works of art from the CMA Collection may not be on view at times due to the changing themes of our Collection exhibitions. In addition, some galleries may be closed for renovation or reinstallation. We regret any inconvenience to visitors. 
  • For questions about works of art on view, please see a Patron Services staff member and they will assist you in finding more information.
