Offering this NEW one-time workshop at CMA! Workshop participants will learn the magical process of dyeing paper using tissue paper and water, discovering the vibrant hues and textures that emerge. Guided by our experienced instructor, participants will utilize their dyed paper to create stunning collages, incorporating shapes and patterns inspired by Ethel Magafan's painting "Meadows." Through close observation of the painting, students will draw inspiration from its organic forms and colors to infuse their collages with artistic depth.

Inspired by the mesmerizing ceramic sculptures in the exhibit "A Material World: Janice Jakielski's Impossible Objects." Jakieliski casts and manipulates ultra-thin porcelain sheets mimicking the look of paper. Through hands-on instruction, discover various paper-cutting and layering techniques inspired by Jakielski's unique forms to bring your own designs to life. Finish by binding your creations into pop-up books using needle and thread.
