Getting a Leg Up: Peart Sculpture is Restored



For fifteen years, Jerry Peart's "Morning Breeze" sculpture has stood by our museum - its large, wild loops and curls welcoming visitors and announcing itself to passers by.
 

This work of art has become a fixture in our community,  so much so that its three supporting legs have sustained damange from skateboarders, bikers, and others who have utilized it in interesting ways.

New Acquisition: Judith Brandon's Golden Rule

Canton Museum of Art is beyond grateful to have received a thoughtful gift from artist Judith Brandon of her piece Golden Rule, which was recently displayed in our lobby. We greatly admired the piece when it was here for our Three Voices exhibit and know that it will contribute significantly to our Permanent Collection.

 

Art for Health & Healing Program

Expressive Art Therapy Program Connects with New Audiences.

 

In response to the growing need for expressive art therapy services in Stark County, Canton Museum of Art (CMA) began the Art for Health and Healing Program in January 2017. This unique hands-on program was conceived and developed by the CMA staff and local art therapy consultant, Gail Wetherell-Sack.
