Join the Early Childhood Resource Center for the first in a series of FREE ART CLASSES led by the Canton Museum of Art! Designed specifically for families with children under age 5 (siblings welcome!), this collaborative initiative will meet on the first Thursday of each month to provide early learning art experiences that help develop critical skills.

Acrylic Painting Workshop: Students will learn the basics of acrylic painting. This medium is versatile and easy to use. The class is suitable for both beginners and more experienced students. The instructor provides a comfortable, fun, nurturing, and welcoming experience. Participants will create one piece working from examples the instructor provides. All materials provided; all skill levels welcome. Ages 16+; 8 seats available.
Movement in art refers to the way an artist creates a sense of motion or guides the viewer’s eye across a composition. This can be achieved through a variety of visual elements, including line, color, rhythm, and repetition. Even in a completely still image, artists can suggest action—whether it’s the swirl of wind or the gesture of a figure. Movement helps bring energy to a work of art, preventing it from feeling static and instead making it feel alive and dynamic.
